Official Iroquoia Club End to End
October 23, 24, 30, 31,  2010
The annual Iroquoia Club End to End is held in four hikes over two weekends, and will take place on October 23, 24, 30, 31. The section is 130 km long and each hike averages 30 km or more. This is a challenging but richly rewarding series of hikes. All hikes will start at 7:00 AM at predetermined locations. A bus will take all participants to the start of the hike. Space is limited to the number of people on the bus. Volunteers will be at  "check points" with water and snacks along the way. The hike can be completed at your pace, but it is expected that participants will be able to finish by 4:00 pm.

The registration fee
 is $30 for all four hikes, or $8 per day that you wish to hike. The fee covers the cost of transportation and receiving the coveted Waterfalls Badge for those who complete all four hikes. Hikes will go rain or shine.

The first day meeting location will be on the shoulder of Guelph Line, between Dundas Street and No. 1 Side Road in Burlington. Map 10, km 86.9.

Day 2 and 3 will be at the entrance to Woodley’s Lane at the Dundas Golf and Country Club. Map 8 km 55.

 Changes to parking agreement with
Conservation Halton – Effective July 1, 2010

Short version: No more free parking at Conservation Halton Parks.

Conservation Halton and Bruce Trail Conservancy
A Message from Conservation Halton Regarding Access
(May 4, 2010)

Conservation Halton (CH) and the Bruce Trail Conservancy (BTC) have had a long term relationship working in partnership to support the sustainability of the Bruce Trail. In appreciation of this co-operative relationship, CH has provided access to the trail for BTC members through CH gated parks without charging an admission fee. CH is currently in the process of installing electronic gates as a supplementary means of collecting gate admissions. This operational change has precipitated a review of the previous admissions arrangement with the BTC.

The following are proposed options to continue supporting our valuable relationship with the BTC membership while addressing our operational logistics;

1. BTC members accessing the trail by foot will continue with past practice. No additional admission requirements will be needed to access the trail in CH gated parks.

2. Where BTC members require access and parking for vehicles the following options will apply;

            a) Pay the applicable daily admission rate at the gate.

             b) Purchase a limited access CH-BTC Annual
                Membership for a nominal administrative fee of $25 per
                person. This membership will provide access to gated
                parks where the Bruce Trail is located on weekdays
                throughout the year. This membership will not allow
                access on weekends and during major special events.

             c) CH invites BTC members to purchase, at a discounted
                price, a full CH Annual Membership which allows them
                to take advantage of all associated CH benefits,
                promotions and discounts. BTC members may
                purchase the full CH-BTC Annual Membership for a
                special BTC price of $45 for an individual membership
                (regularly $95) or $65 for a family membership
                (regularly $115). This upgraded membership will
                provide full access to all CH gated parks and
                applicable services throughout the year.

The electronic gates are scheduled to be implemented in CH parks during the spring of 2010. The implementation will be staggered over the course of the summer and likely into early fall. CH is proposing that the new agreement with BTC take effect as of July 1, 2010. BTC members must purchase their upgraded membership through the CH Administrative Office located at 2596 Britannia Rd W during regular office hours.
