New Year’s Day Hike Event for 2022

The Iroquoia Bruce Trail Club has modified the format of its traditional New Year’s Day Hike Event for 2022 in order to facilitate our ongoing need for social distancing. There will be a number of hike leaders leading small groups on a variety of hikes: different distances, start times and locations along the Iroquoia section.

Please navigate to the hike schedule to find a hike for you to ring in 2022! To see all the hikes available on January 1 for Iroquoia, click on the purple “Iroquoia” filter, then navigate to January 2022, and finally, click on the “List” view. The calendar view won’t show all hikes.

More hikes may be posted in the coming days.

A reminder that the Bruce Trail strongly encourages all hikers to be vaccinated, and some hike leaders may require proof of vaccination in order to participate. Please respect any individual hike leaders’ wishes – hike leaders are volunteers who share their love of the outdoors with others.

As always, please ensure you register all group & family members who will be attending even non-walking children. Please maintain 6ft distance from hikers who are not a part of your household at all times.

If you have questions about hiking in winter, please reach out to your hike leader in advance, or to Christine Hanley at christine.m.hanley@gmail.com, for general advice on what to bring with you.

Here’s to a happy and safe 2022 on the trails!
