The Bruce Trail is made possible by the work and dedication of Volunteers.

As a volunteer there are numerous roles you can fill or support, please review the descriptions below.

President: The President is responsible for the general overseeing of Club operations, and for the direction development and promotion of the overall objectives and goals of the Club.

Vice President: The Vice - President will assist the President as the occasion demands.

Treasurer: The Treasurer is responsible for the custody of the funds of the Club and all financial matters affecting the Club.

Secretary: The Secretary is responsible for the recording of the proceedings of all Club meetings and Board meetings.

Trail Director: Keeping our section of the Trail in top shape is a lot of work. We have "work parties" all year around. Whether it is removing a fallen tree, re-blazing the trail, or building a bridge, there are always jobs needing to be done.

The Trail Director is responsible for the planning, maintenance and overall quality of the trail through the Iroquoia section and for the overall organization and operation of trail work with Trail Coordinators, Trail Captains and Trail Workers and project coordinater.

BTC Liason: The BTC Liaison Director is the official representative of the Club and a full member to the BTC Board of Directors. Club representatives are appointed at the Annual Meeting of the BTC and are full Directors of the BTC. As such they have all the responsibilities of Directors as outlined by the BTC.

Hike Management: Will develop hiking programs for the membership of the Club, and will supervise the program during the time of activity.

Landowner Relations: The Landowner Relations Director should develop and maintain healthy working relationships with all landowners, both public and private, in the Iroquoia section of the trail.

Publicity: The Publicity Director is responsible for the public image of the Club in the community, and for establishing and maintaining the image through the use of media announcements, advertising campaigns, etc.

Publications: The Publications Director will solicit, collect and edit items for the Club Newsletter, The Iroquoian.

Land Steward: The Land Steward Director will appoint Stewards for the properties within our club, and act as the first point of contact for the Stewards.

Volunteer Management: The Volunteer Management Director will actively recruit volunteers and coordinate them with the various duties throughout the Club.

Membership: The Membership Director will maintain complete, current files on the membership of the Club, including volunteer lists, award winners, etc., and for ensuring these records are accurate with the lists at Rasberry House, and for bringing any discrepancies to the attention of Rasberry House.

In addition, the Director is responsible for the encouragement of increased membership in the Club, and increased involvement in Club and Conservancy activities by the membership in general.

Social & Fundraising: The Social and Fundraising Director will coordinate and facilitate all meetings of the membership and any fundraising events.

Director at-Large: The Director At-Large is a non-specific role where that person is expected to take on special projects or assist wherever possible.
