Volunteers Needed

Hike Events Coordinator

The Iroquoia Bruce Trail has a number of hike events during the year that need to be organized. They are New Years Day Hike (January), Bruce Trail Day (September), Steeltown Stomp (shared with the Niagara BTC in September), Annual General Meeting hikes (June) and possibly more at the request of the community.  We are looking for someone who has a passion for the Bruce Trail and organizational skills to coordinate the activities, such as securing park/land permits for the day, arranging other volunteers for check points, coordinating hike leaders to lead multiple hikes, coordinating a raffle and prizes at each event, arranging buses or facilities depending on the event, setup and take down of tables and tents, and other duties characterized by the event.

Trail Monitors

There are 4 openings for Trail Monitors in section A, which runs from Grimsby. The volunteer Trail Monitor is an extra pair of eyes on the trail. The role is necessary to help discover and report problems along the trail, such as overgrowth, erosion, wet areas, damaged blazes, vandalism, graffiti, garbage, fallen trees, and broken structures, such as steps, bridges, boardwalks and stiles.
