We Need a Hike Director!

The Hike Director will develop and oversee all functions and operations within the hiking portfolio, including being the main point of contact for all inquiries regarding recreation.

Essential Elements:

  • Ensure all major club and community events run smoothly

  • Correspond with members, hike leaders, community groups regarding requests and inquiries that could impact the Bruce Trail

  • Liaison between hikers, members, and the Bruce Trail Club

  • Organize Trail Angels for independent hikers

  • Establish and maintain a roster of hike leaders

  • Oversee the online hike schedule as it relates to our club and our leaders

  • Oversee special hike events

  • Ensure hike leaders are certified, trained, mentored, and capable of leading hikes

  • Organize Hiking 101 event to educate the public about hiking

  • Read the Volunteer Orientation Booklet including the Volunteer Pledge and sign the BTC Confidentiality Agreement

It is helpful to have:

  • Good organization skills

  • Some computer skills

  • Good communication skills

  • A knowledge of the Club section and hikes
